Lincoln Letter![]() |
|
Moses was to some degree involved politically as evidenced by this letter from Abraham Lincoln. Sent one month before he won the Presidential election, it is a letter of introduction for a Republican from Illinois who was coming to Lafayette, likely to help campaign for Mr. Lincoln. We do not know if they met, or whom Moses supported, but this letter implies he was at least friendly to Lincoln. Eliza was an abolitionist, Moses may have been as well. |
